The lower the percentage, the darker the window film. We offer films ranging from 70% (the lightest) to 5% (the darkest). Factory windows already have a slight tint, and once additional film is applied, the front two doors must not be darker than 28%, while the rear windows of multi-passenger vehicles must not exceed 15%. For multi-purpose vehicles, you can apply up to 6% tint on the rear windows. For windshields, the law permits tinting as dark as you want down to the AS1 line, and 70% for the entire windshield. Since most windshields are already at 70%, additional tinting may be illegal. Florida law also requires a compliance sticker on the inside of the driver’s door jamb. However, Florida allows for darker tinting with a tint waiver, which can be obtained through the state or signed off by certain doctors for medical reasons such as skin cancer or lupus. Tint waivers may also apply to private investigators and other specific cases.
